About the Artist

Lisa Masson is an impressionist artist and environmental advocate. She creates vivid, expressive artworks inspired by nature conservation, wildlife, and her mental health journey as a late diagnosed neurodivergent. Lisa earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Chapman University in Graphic Design in Orange County, California, where she currently resides.

Throughout childhood, Lisa has shared special interests in painting and nature while growing up surrounded by flora and fauna in Pennsylvania. She spent summers at the Jersey Shore lifeguarding, which instilled a love of the ocean and protecting marine life. Her creative fire was stoked while attending Germantown Academy and Chapman University.

During a study abroad program, Lisa studied the London Olympic Games branding and sustainable design strategies. This opportunity engrained a dedication to sustainability and an enamourment with travel for Lisa. She lived in the Czech Republic for two years while independently blogging about art and travel before the pandemic. She has explored 55 countries, and countless art exhibitions, public art installations, and street art murals throughout her travels, influencing her artistic style.

Lisa has since returned to living in Orange County, California, where she creates her vibrant, impressionist paintings and advocates for climate action. Her recent works revolve around glimmers, micro-moments that make you feel a sense of calm, gratitude, joy and happiness.

Lisa’s artistic mission is to help fill space and time with glimmers. These micro-moments make you feel calm, joyful, happy and grateful. The practice of slowing down and pausing in moments of delight has helped Lisa calm her hyperactive mind and direct that unlocked mental energy toward climate action and advocating for neurodivergent communities. Lisa finds glimmers while exploring the sun-drenched California coast and in quiet moments when she least expects it.

Lisa is a multi-passionate creative that incorporates many artistic mediums into her process. She utilizes photography and graphic design to create and edit reference images, then paints the final artwork with oils and acrylics. She uses leftover paint, upcycled materials, and secondhand frames to create mini pieces from salvaged materials.

Lisa’s style features iridescent details, bold brush strokes, glowing light, expressive color palettes, liquefied skies, and melting seascapes. Her imaginative art emphasizes the creative power of neurodiverse points of view. Lisa aims to celebrate her neurodivergent joys to create a more adaptable, inclusive, and accepting collective. Art is for all, and everyone deserves a seat at the easel.
